Last week I was showing homes to a buyer.  We looked at a lovely 4 year old 2800 square foot home on 2 acres priced at $270,000.  Unfortunately, the yard was so bad… it had little landscaping, the grass is in terrible condition and there are lots of weeds.  It was so bad that the buyer dismissed the house before they even entered.  Later that day we looked at a much smaller house but with a gorgeous setting.  This home had lots of flower beds, landscaping, rockscapes, treescapes, thick stand of healthy grass.  What a difference!  The house is not as large as they want but it still made their short list because of the presentation inside and outside.

Don’t neglect the road appeal.  It’s time to fertilize the grass, clean the flower beds, and at the risk of offending my green friends, put down the weed and crabgrass killers.  Homes are selling, but it’s the nicest ones that get the best offers.
